1. Who we are

EduStar is an online learning platform operated by Abservetech. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at support@abservetech.com.

2. Information we collect

• Account information — your name, email address, optional phone number, and a securely hashed password when you register.
• Profile information — any details you add to your profile, and (for instructors) course content you publish.
• Learning activity — courses you enroll in, lesson and video progress, quiz attempts and scores, assignment submissions, certificates earned, and reviews or ratings you post.
• Payment information — payments are processed by third-party payment providers (such as Razorpay or Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we keep order and transaction records (course, amount, status, date) needed to give you access and for accounting.
• Communications — messages you exchange with instructors or our support team.
• Technical & usage data — device and browser type, IP address, and log data, plus cookies / local storage used to keep you signed in and remember preferences (theme, language).

3. How we use your information

• Provide, operate and maintain the Service and your account.
• Enroll you in courses, track progress and issue certificates.
• Process payments and provide receipts and invoices.
• Enable messaging, reviews, quizzes, assignments and live classes.
• Send service-related notifications and respond to support requests.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and debug issues.
• Improve our content and features, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for essential purposes such as keeping you signed in (authentication tokens) and remembering your theme and language preferences. We do not use them to sell your data.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

• Instructors — when you enroll in a course, that course’s instructor can see your enrollment, progress, quiz/assignment submissions and any review you leave for their course.
• Service providers — payment processors, cloud hosting and storage (e.g. Amazon S3-compatible storage), and email/notification providers, who process data on our behalf.
• Embedded content — some lessons embed third-party video players (e.g. YouTube). Your interaction with embedded content is also subject to that provider’s privacy policy.
• Legal & safety — where required by law, or to protect our rights, users and the public.
• Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data as described on our Account Deletion page, except where we must keep certain records (for example, transaction records for tax and legal compliance).

7. Security

We protect your data with measures including password hashing, encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and review our practices.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@abservetech.com. You can request account deletion at any time via our Account Deletion page.

9. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be communicated through the Service.
